A woman living in North Carolina is facing a lot of criticism on TikTok after she recently forced her 17-year-old son out of her home late at night for getting a tattoo without her permission.
According to a previous video the mom posted, she had allowed him to get a tattoo in the past because his younger cousins had done the same, but told him she did not want him getting another one until he turned 18. That condition, she said, was not up for debate.
However, things did not work out that way. The teenager came home one day and showed his mother a new tattoo anyway, which immediately upset her. She told the boy to pack his belongings and leave their home. “I told you not to get no tattoo. You went and got a tattoo without my permission. You’re getting out this house,” she shouted as her son, who appeared largely unbothered, gathered a few items from his room.
She Felt He Was Being Hard-headed
At times, the boy would burst into a short laugh or casually respond to his mom with phrases like “alright bro” and “bro chill,” which only seemed to frustrate his mother further. The woman continued yelling, insisting that this was how parents should handle children who disobey them. “This is what you do to 17-year-old kids that wanna be grown, that don’t listen to their parents,” she said, urging him to hurry up as she filmed him with her phone.
When her son picked up a bottle of lotion and a sweater to put in his bag, she demanded that he put both items back, claiming that he did not purchase them himself. The teen returned the lotion but kept the sweater, telling her that he had paid for it. Once he finished packing, the boy walked out of his room with his bag slung over his shoulder and headed toward the door. His mother followed closely behind, still telling him to leave.
How Viewers Reacted to the North Carolina Mom’s Actions
In the comments section, people’s opinions were very divided. Some viewers felt the mother was wrong to force her son out over what they saw as a small issue. “She just wanted him gone and was looking for a reason,” one person wrote. Another added, “He’s a minor. Thats an illegal eviction, he’s a resident. The mother committed a crime.” A third said, “No not a reason to kick him out,” while a fourth remarked, “u sending him to get into more trouble.”
Others defended the mother and believed her actions were justified. “She set a boundary and he crossed it she not wrong 👏,” someone commented. Another praised her parenting style, saying, “Your [sic] a great mom and he’ll remember this for life.”
A small portion of viewers also speculated that the woman may have filmed the confrontation for content and had not actually let her son leave that night, though that has not been confirmed.
