A photo of North Dakota Senator Cramer’s office in DC has gained some attention on r/northdakota, with the focus on the Israeli flag by the door. Reddit user Frogband expressed their disappointment in the Senator’s office decor, titling their post “Are we serious…”. They continued the discussion in the comments about how Cramer has allegedly received “$364,123” from AIPAC and how American taxpayers’ dollars for healthcare are going to Israel. However, one shrewd commenter pointed out that this photo was actually rather misleading.
In response to the top-upvoted comment, “Israel flag over an American flag? Shows where his allegiance lies,” Reddit user IvanDimitriov chimed in, claiming they’ve been inside Cramer’s office recently. “I believe that the American flag is on the other side of the door,” they wrote. The Redditor continued, “Not that I disagree with the sentiment of Israel being problematic on its best day. But the photograph is misleading at best.”
Redditor Calls North Dakota Senator’s Office Photo ‘Clickbait,’ Though Others Still Criticize Cramer Regardless
As IvanDimitriov stated, an American flag can be seen on the opposite side of Cramer’s office door in a video shared on YouTube by CODEPINK. “Overall, this picture is purposely cropped to make some nice clickbait,” remarked another commenter in agreement.
In other words, IvanDimitriov expressed how the photo Frogband shared could cause people to believe that the North Dakota Senator had replaced the American flag with the Israeli flag, which is clearly not the case. The United States flag is just to the left of the office’s entrance, though hidden from view in the post’s picture.
Still, some commenters shared concern over whether the American flag was present at the office. “I know we can’t believe everything we see on the internet…and I hope this is not real,” remarked a user.
That said, this all still hasn’t stopped numerous Redditors from sharing their disdain for Cramer and his policy on Israel. His comment on the Americans’ “biblical responsibility” to defend Israel caused quite a controversial, heated debate several months ago, and many still haven’t let that go. “Perhaps we should get this traitor on a plane and send him back to Israel,” wrote a Reddit user. “At least we know who’s paying him,” added another.
In the end, both are true: North Dakota Senator Cramer’s office has both a US flag and an Israeli flag. However, it’s possible that Frogband’s post could be seen as misleading, given that the American flag is on the opposite side from the other three but wasn’t mentioned.
