Not For Broadcast has an official release date. After spending just shy of two years in Early Access on Steam and GOG, the game will be fully released on January 25, 2022. The announcement comes days after the developers celebrated the game surpassing 300,000 sales in Early Access.

Developed by NotGames and published by tinyBuild, Not For Broadcast is an episodic comedy game that tasks the player with managing a news broadcast. A press release published explains these responsibilities in greater detail:

“Featuring over 43 hours of satirical live-action newsreel, surreal ads and strange TV clips from a familiar yet twisted parallel Britain, Not For Broadcast sits players at the broadcasting desk for the National Nightly News. While the TV show rolls, your job is to pick the camera angles, bleep the swearing and make the occasional career-defining editorial decision, all live and under pressure. Easy, right? And here’s you thinking you were just here to clean the office.”

Not For Broadcast makes use of full-motion video (FMV), using live-action footage rather than animation.

In addition to today’s press release, NotGames announced the January 25 release date in a Tweet featuring a launch trailer for the game.
