We all knew that ICE would land at several airports across the country, and some civilians have also brought mayhem their way. Some photographers inside JFK Airport in New York have started chasing maskless ICE agents, hoping to capture their faces to expose them to the public. Ironically, the only thing that makes an agent run away is a maskless face and a camera, as several of these peacekeepers have been caught running away from photographers.
The ICE deployment at airports has begun, and for once, there are several agents without a mask, especially inside JFK Airport. As you can see in the clip, a couple of photographers have been chasing these men around. However, these individuals, who usually don’t care about appearing in front of the camera, while wearing a mask, of course, have now been trying to escape the lenses of citizens trying to expose them.
You can actually see a couple of agents at the airport, all of them turning their sight away from the camera. Some have tried to play it cool, walking slowly and lowering their gaze, while others have been sprinting away as if their life depended on it.
There’s one instance where one of the ICE agents tries to ask one of the photographers to stop following him, but, as the saying goes, what goes around, comes around, as those with a camera have been relentlessly pursuing these officers to capture their faces now that they are out in the open.
As you can imagine, people have been praising those trying to take pictures of ICE, while also shaming the agents for escaping and not acting so tough now that they are powerless without their masks.
“Not so brave when they can’t hide their faces,” commented one Redditor.
“Oh, is it invasive to privacy to record faces and ID them? How the tables turn…” commented another user.
It is sad to see so much unrest at airports now, on top of everything else happening in the country and around the world. Yet it seems people have finally discovered a way to keep ICE in check, and, ironically, it just involves a camera. We can only hope that ICE’s presence at JFK Airport doesn’t lead to trouble.
