Nvidia is the biggest manufacturer in the desktop graphics card industry. Its competition with AMD is getting warmer yearly, but Nvidia wears the crown. One of the reasons why Nvidia sells so much more graphics cards is the balance of the products. The customers trust Nvidia for the price and specification balance GeForce cards have. They also release graphics cards for every range of budget. But the time is ended for some of the cards. Nvidia decides to halt the production of some of its much-loved graphic cards. Here are the cards the company won’t manufacture anymore and what will happen to the current users.
It’s hard to believe, but it’s been four years since the RTX 20 series got released. The family’s biggest child is the RTX 40 series, which has an extreme performance. With time, the company focuses on more new graphic cards to deliver. It’s the reason why Nvidia makes this decision.
Nvidia Ends Production For These Graphic Cards
According to IT Home, Nvidia stopped the production of RTX 2060 Super, RTX 2060, GTX 1660 Super, and GTX 1660. These cards are nearly four years old, and the company released sequels like RTX 3060. Starting today, Nvidia will be focusing on more recent graphic cards like RTX 30 series. Modern cards sell more because they have more performance with a more balanced price tag. 2018’s mid-range cards are today’s low-end cards. The new cards also support more software features, and their driver support is long.
The hint of the production doesn’t mean the current users will be affected. These cards will be supported for at least years. If we consider that even the GTX 700 is still getting serial updates, it’s early to worry about RTX 2060 or other’s driver support. You’ll keep getting updates as usual. But if you didn’t afford these cards, they will probably be hard to find on the market. Be quick if you have a special reason to get them.
