  • Which One to Buy?

Oblivion Remastered was suddenly shadow-dropped by Bethesda, catching many players by surprise. While there were a few leaks hinting at its release, most fans were completely unaware that a remaster was on the way. As a result, some are now unsure whether to pick up the Standard or Deluxe edition. Like many modern releases, the remaster comes in two versions. If you’ve got a bit of extra cash to spare, you might be considering whether the Deluxe edition is worth it.

The Standard Edition is the base version of Oblivion Remastered and It includes the fully upgraded game. The new version is rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 with enhanced visuals, improved gameplay, better combat mechanics, advanced lip-sync technology, and more. But that’s not all; players who purchase the Standard Edition also receive all the original game’s DLCs.

  • Knights of the Nine
  • Shivering Isles

Knights of the Nine is an expansion where you must travel across Cyrodiil. Your goal is to restore a long-lost holy order as the Divine Crusader. Along the way, you’ll embark on a cleansing pilgrimage and ultimately face the powerful sorcerer-king, Umaril the Unfeathered.

  • Digital Artbook: Get access to a beautifully curated digital book featuring a collection of concept art and illustrations from Oblivion.
  • Digital Soundtrack: Enjoy the full game soundtrack, allowing you to experience Jeremy Soule’s iconic score anytime you like.
  • Bonus In-Game Content: The Deluxe Edition also includes a variety of additional DLCs and content packs originally released for Oblivion, such as:
    • Fighter’s Stronghold
    • Spell Tomes
    • Vile Lair
    • Mehrunes’ Razor
    • The Thieves Den
    • Wizard’s Tower
    • The Orrery
    • Horse Armor Pack

Which One to Buy?

Deciding which version to buy really comes down to whether or not you’re interested in the extra in-game items. If you’re on a budget, the Standard Edition is your best bet. It gives you the full game and all the DLCs at a more affordable price. On the other hand, the Deluxe Edition is perfect for hardcore fans who want those extra cosmetics and might also want to support the studio a bit more.
