Airlines are among the safest places you can be, considering the various checkpoints for x-raying your baggage and person. However, because of all these security checkpoints, things can get mixed up and out of hand. Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened to an Atlanta, Georgia, woman when she was embarrassed in front of everyone on board her flight by a flight attendant who allegedly didn’t believe her car seat was airline-approved. How would it have even gotten on the plane in the first place otherwise?

The above video was posted to TikTok by @gissellecruz57, a woman in Atlanta named Giselle Cruz. This event in particular seems to be among the only videos she has posted to the account. In the video, a flight attendant carried Cruz’s infant daughter’s car seat above one of the airplane chairs to verify it had an airline approval sticker while the little girl was still inside. As this is happening, the infant can be seen crying uncomfortably as the car seat is lifted and turned to locate the sticker.

In the background, you can see various passengers witnessing the situation with looks of second-hand embarrassment. Realistically, car seats and strollers are always checked beforehand to verify that they are safe to travel in an airplane with them. These verifications are typically located on the car seat itself, which, in this instance, was the very bottom.

A different woman can be seen showing her phone to the attendant to prove where the sticker was. However, despite seeing the sticker, it still seems as though he was unconvinced.

Various commentators replied with their thoughts on the situation, with many concerned more for the baby’s well-being, with one person saying, “I’m absolutely dying at their faces 😂 just hold the baby and check the stroller at the gate. That baby is terrified 🤦‍♀️” However, there were other comments that thought the video was a prank or a skit, from how ridiculous it is.

In fact, one commentator said, “I thought he was putting her in the overhead bin…. Because I thought it was a skit. Very unserious of me 😭😂” A few update videos were posted the the TikTok account, with one being a different iteration of the same video and the other showing the flight attendant clearly upset and speaking with a different steward. In the latter, the baby can’t be heard crying, so it is assumed that things got sorted out in the woman’s favor.
