If you don’t know what “looksmaxxing” is, just ask the younger generations, because apparently, it’s a trend that feeds into narcissistic tendencies, where people try just about every method they can to look conventionally attractive. For one influencer from Miami, Florida, looksmaxxing has become a full-time job, so much so that he’s not content with his height and now plans to be even taller than 6’2″ through a painful surgery.
19-year-old TikToker and “looksmaxxing” coach, Clavicular, is the man in question, and he recently went viral on social media for a recent podcast with Jack Neel. In the interview, Clavicular revealed his plan to drop more or less $100,000 for a limb-lengthening surgery as he wanted his height of 6’2″ to go all the way up to 6’6″. In turn, Clavicular believes this change in height would make him the best, especially when it comes to “commanding presence.”
To further justify the height surgery, Clavicular claims his current height of 6’2″ is only in the 91st percentile (meaning taller than 91 percent of the population). A height of 6’6″ would put him at the 99th percentile or taller than 99 percent of all the people on Earth. Pretty useful for clubs and grabbing attention, apparently.
Of course, limb-lengthening surgery is risky, as it essentially involves breaking and separating the thigh bone and can result in physical pain and long-term complications, something Clavicular seems to be aware of. “It is more about presence. You walk into a room, people will notice… I’m someone who wants to be the best, and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to get there,” the influencer explains regarding the surgery.
“The unfortunate part about limb lengthening surgery is almost no one is going to be able to do it. You have to be out of work for 6 months – year. You’re going to be hospitalised for the first three weeks. You’re pretty much immobile for the first 3 months. The next three months after that you’re not going to be able to walk without crutches. Not to mention the outrageous prices,” understands Clavicular.
It’s Never Enough
One thing to note here is that Clavicular, 19, has already undergone many surgeries, such as a nose job and Botox, along with Testosterone therapy at 14 years old, which rendered him infertile, and supposedly methamphetamine intake to control his weight. It seems a height surgery at 19 is only just the beginning, considering how many looksmaxxing methods he has already subjected his body to.
People online have voiced out concerns and criticisms against this kind of obsession with looks, calling it harmful. “He’s gonna age like milk if that’s the case lol,” according to one Facebook commenter, with another stating, “All that to be a watered down Cavill.” It’s not clear how long Clavicular plans to go on with his quest to look good, but drastic procedures at such a young age are bound to have negative effects later on.
“Bro is gonna age rapidly when his body starts to give up on him,” worries another commenter. Ironically enough, some critics have pointed out that the presence in a room can be a lot cheaper and safer to achieve, and shorter and less conventionally attractive men than Clavicular have certainly done it, “‘Presence’ in a room has zero to do with height, I’m loving the excuse for being a meth-head though!”
