There are a ton of games that you can purchase on the Meta Quest 2 and 3. A lot of these games are available specifically on the Steam store. Fortunately, you can set up Steam VR to play games on your Quest 2 or 3. Considering that, let’s dive into how to use Steam VR with the Meta Quest 2 or 3.
Using Steam VR With Meta Quest 2 or 3
There are a few steps you need to go through to use Steam VR with the Meta Quest 2 or 3. Ensure you do all of the following before you try to play any SteamVR games.
- In the Meta Quest store, download the Steam Link app.
- On PC, install the Meta Oculus App, which should be prompted to be installed once you connect your Meta Quest 2 or 3 to your PC.
- On Steam, install the Steam VR tool.
Once the above has been taken care of, now you’re on to playing your first Steam VR games on the Meta Quest 2 or 3. Follow these instructions:
- Open the Meta Oculus App on your PC.
- Connect your Meta Quest headset via a USB-C to your PC and ensure that it is on the same network as your PC.
- In your headset, when the ‘Allow access to data’ window pops up, select Deny.
- In the next window, ‘Enable Oculus Link,’ select Enable.
- The Oculus Link window will open and you can check our Library to see all of the games on your headset.
- You can select the particular Steam game that you’d like to play from this window.
- You can also select the Steam VR game from your desktop and then put the headset on to start playing the game.
