There’s a good reason the phrase “think before you act” is so popular. If you do things without thinking, you’ll likely face consequences. Unfortunately, a singer performing with his band was beaten by officers securing the event because they didn’t realize who he was as he was crowd surfing. However, the debacle was captured on film and then reposted to Reddit for everyone to see.
The video begins from the point of view of a member of the crowd at some sort of musical performance. The camera faces another section of the crowd carrying someone in a crowd-surfing style. As the crowd surfer nears the stage, you can see an officer immediately begin to wail at him. It’s unclear as to exactly what’s going on as everyone begins to yell at the same time.
Eventually, the singer was pried away from the officers and brought back to the stage. The video then ends without knowing whether or not the officers were reprimanded for their actions. The comments to the video are filled with replies criticizing them for how they decided to act.

Honestly, looking at the clip, I see that the officer manning the event had no right to act so aggressively. What makes little sense to me is how they didn’t realize he was a part of the onstage ensemble. Did they not see him when he originally got onto the audience? Other commenters shared similar experiences to that in the video.
“I sang in a pretty heavy band in college and one night jumped off the stage into the crowd to start moshing with people. Suddenly somebody picked me up from behind off my feet and used me to open the side door out into the alley but as I was going out sucker punched me from behind in the cheek and shoved me out in the snow and slammed the door behind me. Found myself outside with a split cheek holding my wireless microphone and just started drop kicking the door until they opened it. We played there a lot so the person that finally opened the door recognized me and let me in. I was good friends with the manager at the time they ended up firing that bouncer that evening.”
Hopefully, nobody was seriously hurt, and whoever was responsible for attacking the crowd surfer was reprimanded.
