The name Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice brings about so many images that you don’t necessarily need a synopsis to know exactly what the film is going to be about. Batman and Superman will fight, a mutual enemy will appear and the two will come together to fight said enemy, going on to form The Justice League.
However, one detail that has been speculated on so far, but not officially confirmed, has been focused on why exactly we will see The Dark Knight go head to head with The Man of Steel. The official synopsis, which was released ahead of the impending Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, however, gives us exactly why they will face off. Many people have guessed at the reason why, with many of them being accurate, especially after the release of the trailer several months ago. Anyway, here’s the official rundown for Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice:
“Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.”
The most important thing that the synopsis reveals about Batman vs Superman, other than why the two are fighting, is what countless people have guessed at since the film was announced; there’s going to be an external threat to both of the protagonists. Well, we can call them both protagonists now that we know that we won’t have to see one of them in an antagonistic role. However, we’re not sure who exactly will be the major antagonist in Batman vs Superman, as no other details have been hinted at as far as villains go.
