Cops are probably used to seeing many bizarre things, but even Ohio Officer Branham could not have predicted what he would discover during an evening patrol earlier this week. Around 7 pm, Branham did a traffic stop on a car whose driver had both a suspended driver’s license and an active warrant. 55-year-old Victoria Vidal was the vehicle’s owner and stepped out to be arrested by the cops. However, peering into the car, Branham noticed something wild in the driver’s seat — a raccoon holding a meth pipe.
The Springfield Township Police Department reported that the friendly trash panda was called “Chewy” and was Vidal’s pet. This wasn’t just some random critter she found in her backyard either; she allegedly had the proper paperwork and documentation to own the exotic pet. The fact that the raccoon was chilling in her driver’s seat while handling a drug pipe made the situation all the more shocking and hilarious. In the video below, Officer Branham couldn’t even hold his laughter at how ridiculous it all was.
The meth pipe held by the pet raccoon was just the tip of the iceberg. Vidal was also found to be in possession of a bulk load of methamphetamine, crack cocaine, and two other drug pipes. It’s not surprising that an addict who has this many drugs would be the eccentric owner of a pet raccoon. Fortunately, the Ohio Springfield Township Police Department did confirm that “No raccoons were hurt or injured in this incident.” Chewy was not harmed during the arrest and is likely being taken care of by the authorities while its owner is detained.
Needless to say, this story had many internet users both laughing and questioning reality. “Incredible, just when I had thought I’d seen it all. Never in my wildest dreams that I would ever think I would see a raccoon with a crack pipe,” remarked a Facebook user. “Nothing surprises me anymore 🤯 SMH 😆,” commented another. “I had to check if this was a satire page! 😂” said a third. “You can’t make this s**t up 😂😂,” cackled a fourth.
Florida might have a strong competitor if Ohio police discover other weird things during their patrols. In the meantime, though, let’s hope Chewy makes it through rehab.
