A woman in Toledo, Ohio, recorded how a driver, in the midst of a road rage incident, followed her up close, jumped out of his truck, and approached her angrily. All the while, she was driving alongside her two young children in a situation that could have easily gone worse.
Casey Lane, also known as lanemom76, shared the brief road rage clip on TikTok. She usually posts lifestyle content, mostly featuring the young kids she was driving in the video. Her TikTok quickly went viral, garnering 13.2 million views, 1.7 million likes, and more than 10,500 comments in a day. It is, by far, her biggest clip to date.
The 26-second clip featured the Ohio woman behind the wheel. Her two sons were in the back seat, one still in a child safety seat. Casey, trying to remain calm, recorded the individual following her around. At one point, the man hit the brakes and jumped out of his truck, and Casey also stopped in the middle of the road.
The man kept following her around, and Casey appeared to be slowly driving away from him. At one point, however, he got very close to the driver’s door and even said “Hi” to Casey. She just drove away right before the clip ended.
Road Rage Context
In a follow-up clip, Casey said that the whole road rage incident began when she drove around the man’s stopped pickup truck to go down a side street. The man’s truck was waiting for a stopped train. This maneuver, according to her, is common, but apparently it was enough to trigger the driver, who then allegedly chased her around.
What the man didn’t expect amid his anger was that the internet took the issue personally. Commenters pointed out that, since he was driving a company truck, his business was review-bombed, and many called the number printed on the vehicle.
Ever since the video, the man’s online presence has reportedly vanished, with his business and personal socials gone for good, and his phone was apparently disconnected. The Ohio woman also filed a police report.
Reactions
The video sparked many responses, mostly from viewers who were angered and shocked by the man’s behavior. One said, “What a cowardly person picking on a car with a woman and kids.” Another one commented, “Imagine how he treats his family at home if he cannot control his anger and emotions.”
Others pointed out the man’s “finding out” portion of the story. One wrote, “This man really threw his business away because he couldn’t keep his emotions in check. Hope it was worth it.” Another pointed out, “So many men in your comments are trying to rationalize this behavior. Men, do better. Rage isn’t normal.”
In one of her follow-ups, Casey revealed that a welfare check was conducted on the man’s house. Allegedly, due to the backlash, he threatened to take his own life. Casey asked her followers to stop reaching out to him and his business.
