Communication is such an important part of a strong relationship. It’s also important for new parents to remember everybody in the marriage deserves to have their own personal time. An Ohio mom posted a TikTok video to presumably drag her husband when she’s trying to enjoy some self-care. However, she didn’t necessarily receive the response she probably thought she would. Now battle lines have been drawn and their being dragged on social media.

“Seeing how many times my husband says ‘let’s see what mommy is doing,’” Sarah starts her TikTok video with. She explained her husband is watching her daughter while she gets ready for the day. She made the video as a test to see how many times he would walk in with their daughter while she’s trying to have private time to herself. He enters the first time around the 1-minute mark and asks her, “What are you doing?” with their infant daughter in his arms. He has their daughter say ‘hi’ to her and then they leave.

But he returns again before the four-minute mark and has their daughter show her toy to everyone on screen. He then returns before the six-minute mark and tries to put their baby in her face, saying she’s hungry. Sarah tries to explain to him there’s no way she’s hungry and that she just ate. By the end of the video, he entered a total of five times in thirteen minutes.

Now, you could side with either one of the parents in this scenario. Yes, Sarah deserves her alone time as a new mother and her husband is clearly capable of watching their baby for a short period of time. But also, she seemingly made the video without his knowledge, even if it was just for fun. Without context, it comes off as mean-spirited.

Many slammed her husband, saying that he has “disrespect” for her. “Just because you love your baby doesn’t mean it’s ok for him to interrupt you that many times. Is he incapable or something? Sad,” said another. Unfortunately, this is what you can often expect when your family is frequently on social media.

One person commented on Sarah’s video, “Next vid will be defending him.” One commenter pointed out that she already allegedly made a defense video but then deleted it because she didn’t like its reception. However, Sarah is defending her husband in the comments stating, “Nooo he definitely respects me I promise haha I love having my baby around I just thought this would be a funny video.”
