An Ohio mother is sparking debate online after sharing a video of another child allegedly threatening her 3-year-old son. While many viewers were shocked by the interaction, the comment section quickly turned its attention to the mom’s choice to record the moment before intervening.
TikTok user @lena_mma1 shared the 13-second clip, which shows an older child threatening to “break” her son’s head open. When her son says he’ll tell his mom, the other child tells him he won’t be able to.
According to the Ohio creator, she intervened after the recording stopped and spoke with the other child’s mother directly. Though she says the mother’s response fell flat. “Sometimes he has a hard time controlling his mouth, I know it’s not an excuse but…” the mother reportedly told her.
TikTok Weighs In
Many commenters were disturbed by the threat, arguing it went beyond typical bad behavior for a child. “I worked in childcare for years, this is not normal,” one person wrote.
Others focused on praising the toddler’s response instead. “Ur baby knows what to do when someone is being this way to him and that shows so much ab YOU and how you parent,” one commenter wrote. Another added, “Your baby’s response was perfect, you’re raising a good little boy.”
Not everyone was sympathetic to Lena, though. Several viewers criticized her for not saying something right away. “And you didn’t say anything,” one person pointed out. Others took issue with her filming first instead of stepping in. “I would’ve intervened before I started filming,” one commenter wrote. Another was more blunt: “Here you are just letting it happen and watch it and recorded it smh, get up walk over there grab your kid and leave.”
In the end, the comment section became a parenting debate of its own, with viewers questioning the mother’s decision to record first while others wondered what the child had heard, seen, or experienced that led him to threaten another child.
