A resident in Ohio looked ready for war as she openly confronted a man on the streets while armed with an assault rifle. In a video posted on Reddit, a woman dressed in a bright pink nightshirt was captured shouting at the top of her lungs and holding an assault rifle with one hand. Her aggression was targeted at a man positioned across an intersection. She continued to yell at him in indiscernible words as she approached him.
Once she crossed the road, she looked like she was ready to attack, repeatedly asking the man, “You gon’ do what!? You gon’ do what!?” The man’s words were inaudible, but it seemed he was trying to reason with her as she continued to confront him. “What’s your problem?” Despite now being face to face with the man, she kept the rifle lowered and didn’t attempt to use it in any way.
Meanwhile, the woman’s son, who appeared to be between the ages of 10 and 12, was attempting to cross over to where his mother was. He tried to de-escalate the situation from his vantage point and could be heard calling out to the woman, “Mama!” He eventually crossed over and went to meet his mother, but she seemed adamant and continued to shout at the man as she followed him across the street again.
Users on social media who watched the footage poured out their sympathy for the young boy who was caught in the crossfire of his mother’s temper. One user wrote, “Aahh that poor kid,” another replied, “Yeaahhh that broke my heart when I heard him holler for her.” One user commented, “Oh my heart broke as soon as I heard ‘Mama,’ jesus f*cking CHRIST.” Another replied, “It’s always so sad to see a video of a young child having to babysit their ‘grown’ parents”
A user called for “robust mental health background checks,” although also noting that the woman would certainly not pass one. The user further commended the son for “being the better parent.” Another user expressed sympathy for the boy, saying they wished they could meet him and help him. “… he was so calm and courageous— not his first time intervening in adult business.” Another sarcastically added, “Parent of the Year.”
Meanwhile, other users noted that, although the woman’s actions were questionable, she still demonstrated good trigger discipline. One wrote, “She appears to have decent trigger discipline too!” Another replied, “That she does… Bravo girl. But I think she bumps the muzzle on the ground a couple of times.” A user simply commented, “At least gun discipline.”
