An Ohio woman took to TikTok to complain about her Lyft driver leaving her stranded at her second stop because he could not understand exactly what she meant, as he could not speak any English. Almost serendipitously, the next Lyft she got into had another non-English driver. At the beginning of the clip, the woman expressed her opinion that any job requiring customer service should not employ anyone who does not speak “a lick of English.”
According to her, upon leaving the store, she couldn’t find her driver anymore. She wondered how these people were navigating the way, seeing as they could not understand their customers at all. “How are y’all maneuvering without speaking English?” she asked. Just as she was emphasizing how irritating it was to meet people like that, she got into another Lyft and, funnily enough, the driver also could not speak English. Completely defeated and done with the fight, the woman just gave up, telling the driver not to mind.

While users firmly agreed that the need for drivers to be able to communicate in English was undebatable, they were more stunned by the almost comedic timing of her encounter.
