An Oklahoma teacher named Baylee Javellas is sharing the story of how she was publicly called out and shamed by a parent at the school where she works out. The educator revealed that it all started when a parent of one of the students pulled up in the school’s pick up line and decided that she needed to say something about the “inappropriate” outfit Javellas had opted to wear to school that day.
In her TikTok video, the Oklahoma teacher revealed that she taught P.E. and then proceeded to reveal that she was shocked that the parent called her out for wearing a large black t-shirt, black leggings, and white sneakers.
“A mom in the car rider line rolled down her window this morning and goes ‘Don’t you think you’re dressed a little inappropriately to be around young boys today. I think you can do better.’ Rolls up her window, drives away,” Baylee Javellas recalled.
The video gained almost 3 million views within the first days after it was uploaded, with 400K+ likes and over 12K comments. Many of those comments took Baylee’s side and revealed that she was dressed perfectly fine to be teaching P.E. to both boys and girls at the school.
Oklahoma Teacher Baylee Javellas Wasn’t Expecting To Get Shamed In The School Pick Up Line
One point that many of her viewers stated was that the mother should teach her sons not to sexualize women for how they look or dress. Others claimed that the parent was likely jealous of the Oklahoma gym teacher, and even suggested that she wear something outlandish to make her point.
“Sorry- it’s your face card. Doesn’t matter what you’re wearing,” one person commented.
“I fear how her sons are being raised,” said another.
“Maybe it’s time for her to teach her young son that someone else’s body and what they are wearing isn’t his business!!” a third person wrote.
“I have 12 and 14 year old sons. You are dressed 100% appropriately. But I love the suggestions of wearing something super ridiculous tomorrow,” another social media user shared.
“Summer break can’t come soon enough,” said a fifth person.
It seems that most of the Oklahoma teacher’s viewers were sympathetic to her experience. She was covered nearly completely, with only her arms showing. Yet, she was made to feel bad in public for wearing comfortable clothing to teach her P.E. classes. Unfortunately, it seems that Baylee Javellas won’t be able to make everyone happy. However, it looks like the majority of parents are fine with her at-school attire.
