There’s something super appealing about eating at buffets. Not only do you get a ton of variety, as there’s usually an assortment of offerings, but it’s typically quite affordable as you can eat as much as you possibly can without having to be lumbered by a sizeable bill. But while waiting in the queue at a buffet, have you ever seen a person holding a dog while they serve themselves? Well, a customer in an Oklahoma buffet restaurant was caught on camera doing just that, and due to issues over hygiene, it’s since sparked plenty of discussion online.
The video is recorded from the perspective of one of the other patrons in the restaurant, and sees a woman wearing a grey t-shirt and blue jeans as she’s serving herself at the buffet counter. What’s unusual is that she’s holding a small blonde doggo in her arms as she’s scooping various food stuffs onto her plate.
Accompanying the footage is the caption, “Since when is it alright to take your dog through the buffet line??” Making the video a little more comedic is the fact that the song Dumba*s is playing over the footage by singer-songwriter Dennis Steven Wright.
Of course, as the clip continues to circulate online, it’s sparked plenty of discussion over the unsanitary nature of taking your dog up with you to the restaurant buffet. Over on TikTok, one user expressed, “you know how much hair a dog like that releases spreading all over the food and you’re eating it.” A second commenter simply wrote, “That’s unsanitary” while a further netizen asked, “where is this place“. Answering that latter query, the OP explains, “Mazzios Pryor Ok“.
A fourth remark came in on Reddit, exclaiming, “Contact restaurant personnel about dog. If they do nothing, it should be your last visit. If they allow dogs in the food line, imagine the [expletive] ups that occur in the kitchen behind closed doors.” Elsewhere, a fifth commenter added, “I would immediately ask the restaurant for a refund“.
Personally, I wouldn’t be too shocked to see a dog in a restaurant, as some eateries allow that sort of thing, especially for guide dogs. But the fact that this doggo is likely not a guide dog, and is being held so close to the food I’m about to eat would definitely put me off, which is far from ideal, right?
