Today Bandai Namco Europe announced One Piece: Burning Blood, a fighting game based on the popular manga and anime series.
The title is being developed by the Spike Chunsoft Co., Ltd. The developer is known for among other things their Mystery Dungeon and J-Stars games. The announcement promised the game will offer a never before seen experience including fast-paced gameplay, and unique One Piece elements.

Not much was revealed about the gameplay specifics, other than Logia Devil Fruits and “Haki” can be used to throw massive special moves and take down opponents. The announcement, and the game’s website say to stay tuned for more information soon.
The official website for the game calls it a “pure fighting-game”. Hervé Hoerdt, VP Marketing & Digital at Banda Namco Entertainment Europe seemed to imply that the games development was influenced by fan input.
The game is being release on PlayStation 4, Vita, and Xbox One. This is the first time a game based on One Piece is being released for a Microsoft console. Although the last game One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 did see release on Microsoft Windows.
The game was announced for release in Europe, The Middle-East, Africa, Asia, and Australia. It is slated to release sometime in 2016. Their is no word on a North American release at this time.
