The fighting genre in VR is something to be greatly experienced. With only just a few titles in the category, the new Down and Out open-world game might kick up the competition a bit. From developer Zatun comes an impactful fighting title that has seen recent success since its December 14, 2021, debut. VR enthusiasts can expect Down and Out to launch onto the PlayStation VR and Oculus Quest devices in early 2022.
Down in the Dumps, Out for a Fight
In Down and Out, you play as a homeless fighter stuck in a big city that doesn’t care about you. But there comes a point where you can only take so much. Where a man reaches his breaking point. To make some money for yourself, you’ll have to pump up those fists and start some fights on the streets.
The game is set in an open world where you can traverse busy streets, lonely alleys, and rough corners. You’ll come across a variety of ruthless enemies that will continuously adapt to your fighting style. If you’re familiar with previous fighting games, this might be a walk in the park. But Down and Out also caters to amateur brawlers with the game implementing a clever fighting system to keep the violence fresh and engaging. Down and Out initially launched on December 14, 2021, for Oculus and Steam VR devices for $14.99. But with the increasing success of the game, the developers announced that the game now supports HTC headsets. For the PSVR and Oculus Quest folks, keep an eye out for a tentative early 2022 date.
