Peter Cullen, the voice performer best known for his work as Optimus Prime in the Transformers series, was given the Lifetime Achievement Award on December 17, 2023. While the name is self-explanatory, this Special Merit is given to those who’ve made “creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording” over their lifetimes. Cullen was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences during the Annual Children’s & Family Emmy Awards.
