Breaking Bad and Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter is attached to the Orphan Black sequel Echoes, as Variety reported. She will star in the upcoming AMC series and executive produce. The actress will play Lucy, a woman trying to find herself in the world.

The new Orphan Black series will be in the near future as it follows a group of women with interconnected lives. They will go on an adventure about identity, love, and betrayal. It will also examine the scientific manipulation of humanity.

AMC ordered for 10-episodes of the Orphan Black sequel. It will release sometime in 2023 on AMC and AMC Plus. Anna Fishko will write, executive produce, and act as the showrunner. Co-creator of the original, John Fawcett, returns to direct and executive produce. David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg will also produce. Katie O’Connell Marsh, Nick Nantell, and Kerry Appleyard will executive produce with the Breaking Bad star.

The Orphan Black sequel brings Krysten Ritter back to AMC. She was in the early years of Breaking Bad and had a brief appearance in the film El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie. Her other notable roles have been in Jessica Jones, The Defenders, Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23, Veronica Mars, and Gilmore Girls. In recent years, she has been on The Coldest Case podcast along with the YA horror Netflix film Nightbooks. Looking ahead, she will star with Jesse Plemons and Elizabeth Olsen in the limited series Love and Death.

The original Orphan Black premiered in 2015 and ran for five seasons on BBC. The Emmy-winner starred Tatiana Maslany (She-Hulk), Dylan Bruce (Heroes Reborn), Jordan Gavaris (Orphan Black: The Next Chapter), Maria Doyle Kennedy (Outlander), and Kristian Bruun (Ready or Not).

No specific date has been set for Echoes, as it aims for sometime in 2023.
