New IP’s can be somewhat of a rarity these days, but that’s exactly what Outriders will give us when it’s released. Developed by People Can Fly, and published by Square Enix, Outriders is a third-person, role-playing shooter. It may not be anything we haven’t seen before, but it’s still a new IP and that has to count for something. Those of you that have seen the various videos available, and are excited about the game, may well have been quite disappointed when Outriders was delayed from 2020 to February this year. At least it’s not too long to wait right?
Wrong.
I have more bad news, Outriders has now been delayed until April 1. The news was confirmed via the official Twitter, confirming that the new date is definitely not a joke. It’s not all bad news though. Obviously, the extra time allows for extra polish, which is never a bad thing. The team addresses as much in the tweet, explaining that the delay will allow Outriders to be fine-tuned so they can deliver a fantastic play experience at launch. Another rarity.
It was also confirmed that Outriders will be getting a demo on February 25. Whilst it may not be the full game, the demo will allow players to play the first few hours of Outriders with any one of the four available classes. It can also be enjoyed as both a single and multiplayer experience, which isn’t bad for a demo. Any progress made will also be transferable to the main game upon release.
Outriders will release on PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox Series S/X & One on April 1st. A Stadia release will follow later in the year. Let us know your thoughts on Outriders in the comments. Are you excited to buy it, and can’t wait, or are you happy you can now try it before you buy?
