Fans of Overcooked 2 should be quite excited for today! Announced by publisher Team17, the Winter Wonderland update for the game is now available. This update brings a large amount of new content to the game; all centered around the winter season. You can expect to see a ton of new levels following the theme of some DLC adventures, along with some new content in the spirit of Winter.
Players have five new festive kitchens to play through. Each of these kitchens a little something to remind you of the game’s three DLC packs. One for Campfire Cook-Off, two for Night of the Hangry Horde, and two for Carnival of Chaos. These should serve as great additions for those that wanted more from the DLC packs of 2019. Levels aren’t all the update is offering, though. You can now play as two new chefs as well, being a present chef, and a reindeer chef, both to get you in the festive spirit.
It wouldn’t be a festive update without several new festive recipes, five to be exact! You can now create hot chocolate, pancakes, roast dinners, Christmas pudding, and mince pudding. Finally, the game’s Horde Mode has several new hungry enemies to deal with. All of which are centered around festive foods (but zombified).
This isn’t all the news the team has this month. Earlier in December, Overcooked 2 won the Indies & Developer Award at this year’s PlayStation Awards. A big congratulations to them for their win, and best of luck for future development.
With all that’s in the update, be sure to jump into Overcooked 2 now and experience it. If you haven’t experienced the paid DLC though, you can purchase it through the Overcooked 2 Season Pass. The pass bundles Carnival of Chaos, Campfire Cook-Off, and Night of the Hangry Horde all together. It’s available on all platforms for $18.99.
If you haven’t played the Overcooked games, though, allow us to introduce you. They’re a series of co-op cooking simulator games developed and published by Team17. You take control of different chefs and cook up dishes for your hungry customers. You can play with up to three other players in local or online co-op (online only available for Overcooked 2). If you want to try the game, it’s available for PC (Steam), PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch for $30.
As always, this isn’t all the gaming news for today. For our RPG fans out there, Phantasy Star Online 2 is now having sign-ups for its western beta. Be sure to sign up if you want to give the game a try early. As well, Final Fantasy XIV Online has officially hit 18 million players worldwide! Congrats to the team at Square Enix on this achievement.
