Overwatch 2 was released a few weeks ago, but the patches are already getting slow. If we consider that there are still things that need to change in the game, it’s annoying to see lazy updates. The first updates were mostly nerfing for the characters, thanks to the bug-fixing marathon in the open beta process. The number of updates released since the game’s release isn’t inadequate. But the Overwatch 2 fanbase started complaining about the period of the game updates.
The problem isn’t about only the minor updates. Blizzard still didn’t relay the mid-season update they promised. Most of the game studios settled their season updates to Halloween. But Blizzard says the mid-season update will be released in the next three weeks. Here are some complaints that came from the fanbase.
Overwatch 2 Patches Has To Be Faster
Some of the fans say some characters need nerfs soon as possible. But the bigger problem is Blizzard is already getting slow at releasing the patches for Overwatch 2. It isn’t in the closed beta process anymore; the game updates need to be faster. If you have a quick tour of the game’s subreddit page, you can see how many requests for the game. In a competitive game like Overwatch 2, the requests must be processed much faster. Here’s one of the most upvoted posts about the updates shared by u/JD_Crichton.
Blizzard. Overwatch is Live Service now. Balance updates HAVE to be faster than this.

The updates weren’t that important in the beta process. But the game is a live service now, and the developers must focus on it. It’s unusual to see Blizzard’s indifference to a game released only weeks ago. As their announcement says, we don’t expect the mid-season update this Halloween anymore, but we want faster updates in the future. You might get annoyed by the poor balance of the game if you’re obsessed with the game these days.
Overwatch 2 works well on every platform. It had a few minor issues at the launch, but the developers fixed them in a few days. The barriers against the game are removed, but now it’s time to make it more comfortable to play.
