This is a huge week for Overwatch 2 players because, besides the debut of Vendetta and Season 20, we’re also getting the long-awaited Winter Wonderland event of 2025. If you don’t know what that is, it is a limited-time mode that brings several game modes that will see you and your friends going on some snowball battles, yeti-hunting, and cookie-collecting to unlock some festive rewards. So, if you want to participate in the event but are unsure of where to start, here’s a quick guide for Winter Wonderland.

Winter Wonderland Guide

The first thing you need to know about the Winter Wonderland event of Overwatch 2 is that it brings new game modes, as well as a limited-time currency that you can use to progress through three different reward tracks, each with its own set of rewards.

First, let’s go over the game modes you can tackle right now:

  • Mischief & Magic (Similar to Prop Hunt/5v5)
  • Winter Brawls
    • Freezethaw Elimination (4v4)
    • Snowball Deathmatch (8 Player FFA)
    • Yeti Hunter (5v1)
    • Mei’s Snowball Offensive (5v5)

Besides the holiday fun, playing these new game modes will allow you to earn cookies. You can then use the cookies in any of the reward tracks, which are as follows:

  • Jingle’s Workshop:
    • 10 Levels. Each one gives you 1 Battle Pass Tier skip token.
  • Santa’s Sleigh:
    • Cosmetic Rewards
      • Includes the Frozen Demon skin (Junkrat) and Frozen Mountaineer skin (Cassidy)
  • Krampus’ Basket
    • Includes Loot Boxes, with the final one being a Legendary Loot Box.

To progress through these tracks, you need to donate cookies, with some tracks needing more than others. For instance, Jingle’s track requires six cookies for each level, while Krampus’ increases from 6 to 7, and all the way to 12.

Once you complete any of the Winter Wonderland challenges, you’ll get your cookies, which you can then use for any of the rewards track. Make sure to plan the one you want to pursue first, as some are much better than others, such as Santa’s giving you legendary skins for free. Also, the event runs from December 9 to January 7, so mark your calendar and make time if you want to earn everything the holidays have brought to this hero shooter.
