Moving onward, let’s rank the top teams as Stage 2 get’s underway.
OWL Power Rankings | Top- 5
- Vancouver Titans
- New York Excelsior
- San Francisco Shock
- Los Angeles Gladiators
- Seoul Dynasty
Ok. Let’s start from the bottom and work our way up the chain. You may be thinking, why are the Dynasty ranked ahead of some of these other teams that have already put one in the win column last week, while they suffered a loss?
The answer is they lost a close, 3-2 match against the LA Gladiators. But keep in mind, the Excelsior has only lost once all season, and who was that to? The Dynasty. Seoul absolutely demolished the New York squad in the stage playoffs. The team is starting to click and Fleta is finally looking like the player we expect. Look for the Dynasty to start tacking up some wins as this Stage continues.
The Los Angeles Gladiators are 2-0 and sure there are a couple of other teams, such as the Boston Uprising, Chengdu Hunters, and London Spitfire, but this is about Power Rankings and projections moving forward, tied records. These teams are all missing one thing … Decay. Was ineligible for the first few games this season, but now he is of age and ready to help the Gladiators smash their opponents. Everyone was bidding for this prodigy over the offseason, and he will be the Gladiators star damage dealer, and likely to win rookie of the year.
The San Francisco Shock swept both the Valient and the Spark to move to 2-0 thus far. They are an interesting team because they bided their time, trusting in the fact sinatraa would come of age and dominate. Now they have the leading damage-dealer in the OWL in sinatraa with 13,129 per 10 minutes and perhaps the best tank in the league as well in super.
They have a great coach and one of the most dangerous DPS lines in the OWL. We have them at No. 3 but they are so stacked that they could very well climb the ranks and compete for the championship.
The New York Excelsior Smashed through their first two meetings by sweeping their rivals. The only reason that they are not ranked No.1 (and are barely ranked No. 2 ahead of the Shock) is that they tend to choke in the playoffs. They were primed and poised to win-out in Stage 1, but they got routed by the Dynasty and knocked out.
The Stage 1 champs started out strong by picking up where they left off: sweeping the Spark 4-0. JJANU is on fire! He has five OWL matches with 10 or fewer deaths. As the main tank, there is just nobody better. His combos are almost always perfect and the Diva Bombs come out at just the right time. Moreover, the chemistry on the Vancouver Titans as a whole is why they are Ranked No. 1 at this point in Stage 2. The Shock may have more talent … but no team is as clutch.
