Though Palia includes a wide range of feisty fish to catch, those aren’t the only animals you can collect. If you’re on the lookout for a new favorite flying friend, there’s a lot to like about the Brighteye Butterfly. It’s as difficult to catch as Rare fish like the Mutated Angler, but the rewards are well worth it, even if you’re not big on bugs. The Brighteye Butterfly is a prime source of Silk Thread and Gold, so if you’re looking for some high-class upgrades, you’re in luck. Here’s how to find and catch Brighteye Butterfly in Palia.
Palia Brighteye Butterfly Guide
(Updated on October 9, 2024 – updated links and format)
Although it’s an insect, the Brighteye Butterfly is a bit of an early bird. It only spawns during the morning and day, so you’re out of luck if you’re searching in the evening or at night. Thankfully, the Brighteye Butterfly is easy to distinguish from other butterflies on the server thanks to its orange-brown coloration and the signature eye pattern on its wings. Here are the locations in Bahari Bay where you can find a Brighteye Butterfly in Palia:
- Thorny Thicket
- Proudhorn Pass
- The Outskirts
- Flooded Steps
Like other butterflies in the game, the Brighteye Butterfly will start flying away as soon as you approach. We therefore recommend keeping a belt with a Smoke Bomb ready. Throw the Smoke Bomb (or, better yet, a few of them) at the insect to stun it. Then run up and catch it before it can recover. Catching one Butterfly can reward you with multiple Silk Threads, so the effort is worth it. Smoke Bombing butterflies like a cartoon ninja is just one more reason Palia ranks among the best (and most unique) cozy games.
