Palworld has taken the gaming world by storm and has already managed to sell over 7 million copies in under a week. It has taken the top spot over Pokemon Legends: Arceus, which was an extremely successful title for Nintendo in terms of sales.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus broke some sales records and became the fastest-selling Pokemon game of all time. And that’s saying something considering how many successful Pokemon games have come out over the years. The game sold 6.5 million copies in a week, sending the excellent Sword and Shield’s 6 million units to second place.
What makes Palworld’s 7 million even more impressive is that this isn’t even taking the players on Game Pass into account. So the total number is likely a lot higher than 7 million. The game still has two days left to set a new bar, but it still has its work cut out for itself. The most played game with the biggest all-time player peak was PUBG with 3.2 million, Palworld has reached an extremely impressive 1.8 million, but it isn’t even close to PUBG.

Even so, Palworld has gone toe to toe with some of the biggest titles and come out on top. Here are the all-time top 10 concurrent player peaks:
- PUBG: Battlegrounds
- Palworld
- Counter-Strike 2
- Lost Ark
- Dota 2
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Elden Ring
- New World
- Hogwarts Legacy
- Baldur’s Gate 3
This is an impressive list of games, and Palworld fans and developers should be very proud of the achievement. But of course, being such a massive release, some level of controversy was unavoidable. It has been claimed that Pals in the game are a bit too similar to Pokemon, with some even saying that the models are stolen. The CEO of the company, Takuro Mizobe, has confirmed that there has been no stealing of IP and that the game has passed all legal reviews.
