Pamela Anderson rose to fame on the hit TV series Baywatch. The series follows a group of lifeguards patrolling the California beaches. The show ran for 11 seasons and featured an all-star cast, including David Hasselhoff. Anderson played C.J. Parker on the drama from 1992 to 1997. The role skyrocketed her to stardom, and she became Hollywood’s new It girl. Although the show made her a household name, it’s a part of her life she wants to forget.
Pamela Anderson is Moving on From Baywatch Past
It’s been over 20 years since the show ended, yet it’s still popular. Recently, the series was the topic of the Hulu documentary After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun. The documentary focuses on how the show became a pop culture phenomenon and catapulted its stars into fame. Many former cast members, including Nicole Eggert, Erika Eleniak, Billy Warlock, and Alexandra Paul, participated in the documentary.
But one notable name missing was Anderson.
Although the Playboy Playmate appears in archival footage, she had no involvement in the docuseries. In a new interview with Glamour, the star revealed she’s trying to distance herself from herself all things Baywatch.
“Even today, someone showed me something that Hulu’s doing, some kind of Baywatch [documentary], which I have nothing to do with,” she explained.
The Last Showgirl actress revealed that the documentary’s producers went to great lengths to try to feature her in the miniseries.
And so they just dug up some interview, but I had nothing to do with this documentary. They begged everybody around me. They tried to get my kids to talk me into it. They said they’d give them producer credits.
Despite all their efforts, Anderson was firm in her stance. “I mean, they were trying everything,” she said. “And I said, ‘No, I really don’t want to go backwards.'”
Anderson has maintained a steady career since her lifeguard days. But in 2017, she reprised her role as C.J. Parker in the big-screen film Baywatch, which starred Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.
As for any other project involving her former TV series, it looks like Pamela Anderson has officially hung up her red swimsuit.
