It is reunion time for Pacific Coast Academy alumni. Paramount Plus has brought the cast of the Nickelodeon classic series Zoey 101 back with the trailer for the Zoey 102 movie. The alumni get together for the wedding of Quinn (Erin Sanders) and Logan (Matthew Underwood).
Not all of the original cast are seen in the Zoey 102 trailer. Returning stars include Jamie Lynn Spears as Zoey Brooks, Sanders as Quinn Pensky, Underwood as Logan Reese, Sean Flynn as Chase Matthews, Christopher Massey as Michael Barrett, Abby Wilde as Stacey Dillsen, and Jack Salvatore as Mark Del Figgalo. Non-returning cast members are Lola Martinez, who played Victoria Justice, Alexa Nikolas, who played Zoey’s best friend and roommate Nicole Bristow, and Oscar-nominee Austin Butler, who played James Garrett.
Paramount Gives the First Look at the Zoey 102 Movie With a New Trailer
Several of the live-action shows from Nickelodeon have been blasted in recent years due to abuse and exploitation, largely from the creator of Drake & Josh, iCarly, and Zoey 101, Dan Schneider. Alexa Nikolas was one of those people, resulting in her not participating in the revival film. She claimed that he yelled at her and was the “creator of childhood trauma.” She called the company out for protecting predators, forcing people to sign non-disclosure agreements to keep quiet.
Schneider is also not attached to this upcoming film. Getting a glimpse at Zoey 102 with this trailer reveals the vision from director Nacy Hower (So Help Me Todd), written by Madeline Whitby (Drama Club) and Monica Sherer (Drama Club). They also executive produce with Spears, Martha Fernandez, and Alexis Fisher. Zack Olin and Shauna Phelan serve as producers.
The Zoey 102 trailer shows off some of the newcomers joining the alumni of the original series. The new additions include Thomas Lennon (Reno 911!), Dean Geyer (Glee), Audrey Whitby (In the Vault), and Soma Chhaya (Degrassi: Next Class).
Zoey 102 will release on Paramount Plus on July 27.
