Today, a new realistic horror game with a unique premise released a trailer, showing off some gameplay that players can expect from this future release. The game, called Paranormal Tales, takes the concept of found footage from movies like Paranormal Activity and applies that concept to a video game. This creates a realm of new realistic horror games that could take the world by storm.
Additionally, Digital Cybercherries, a small indie company, is developing Paranormal Tales. The company so far has two other gaming credits, New Retro Arcade: Neon and HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed. Although neither of these is a horror game, based on the recent trailer for the new realistic horror game, the company seems to be taking their time and putting a lot of heart and effort into the project.
Paranormal Tales is A Hyper-Realistic Horror Game
In the Paranormal Tales gameplay trailer, we see a character walking around the forest, supposedly looking for his lost dog, from the perspective of his body cam footage. The environments look incredibly realistic, and the natural voice acting and perspective help plant the player firmly in the scene of the game. Later the protagonist turns to see an eerie figure in the distance, which quickly charges after him. The trailer for this new realistic horror game eventually ends with the protagonist looking up helplessly as we see the figure screaming.
Found-Footage Meets Horror in This Game
While the trailer for Paranormal Tales shows footage from a body cam, the full game will include footage from many sources, including phones and VHS cameras. The game will allow players to explore self-contained adventures through various video files that characters have recorded and what happened to each recorder of the files. Finally, the game prides itself on its hyper-realism, making it a horror game that fans of the genre should look out for.
Paranormal Tales is coming to Steam sometime in the future. No price point or release date is currently available, and the game simply taunts players, stating, “Wishlist if you dare.”
