If you have children, then you understand the joy of being able to gift them something they’ve wanted for a long time. There’s an entire build-up of purchasing the item, hiding it away until the special day, and finally, presenting it to them. I vividly remember getting the Wii on my birthday the year it was released and being so grateful that my grandparents didn’t understand if I was happy because of the crying. One Reddit user posted a wholesome video of their daughter’s gratitude for her birthday present.
The video starts with a young girl and another older girl opening the door to reveal the former’s birthday present. The moment she sees it, she explains how much she loves it. The camera then reveals a small-scale Barbie home, which the original poster explained to be a hand-me-down. While ogling the small, plastic home, she doesn’t realize that her actual present is against the wall behind her.
It isn’t until she turns around to thank and hug her mother that she sees the larger, several-foot-tall dollhouse. Realizing it was just a prank, her daughter immediately runs into her room to scream into her pillow. The commenters on the post couldn’t help but praise the parents for raising such a grateful girl.
