A good steak after a hard week at work is a well-deserved treat, especially if you work in healthcare. Unfortunately, one nurse from Pennsylvania got a little too excited and ordered her steak without even checking the price or the menu. What she got was a premium $145 dent in her pocket for something that she consumed in mere minutes, and while those few minutes were bliss, the post-meal realization hit hard enough to make her cry.
Instagram user iammnursesierra, also known as Sierra, is the nurse in question. Recently, she visited Del Frisco’s in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to treat herself to a Tomahawk steak. Too bad she chose impulsively, because in the video, you can see Sierra cry-laughing after being informed of the price of her steak, which is $145 ($152 total, including everything else). You can also hear Sierra explaining, “I’m sorry, I wanted it so bad.”
The moment was bittersweet for her, apparently, because she followed up her explanation with, “It’s so good! It was so good!” As for why she didn’t know the price, Sierra came to the restaurant a little too late and was informed that “the kitchen closes in six minutes” as soon as she sat down, which was why she ordered a Tomahawk steak right away.
“I kid you not…I didn’t even open the menu 😃 I knew EXACTLY what I came here for,” the nurse further detailed. Sierra’s video has since gone viral with more than 15 million views alone on her Instagram account, and millions more elsewhere as people made fun of her predicament
People Online were Unimpressed with the Steak
While Sierra was more or less satisfied with her Tomahawk steak, a number of people in her comment section were not exactly impressed by the Del Frisco’s steak. One viewer even complained that “Del frisco’s is not even one of the better steakhouses but they can charge this lol,” while another pointed out the color of the steak, “Please can someone show me or tell me where the gold is $152 for this no saus nothing just a dry @$$ steak.”
Others were mocking the Philadelphia nurse’s impulsiveness, though some sympathized with her. One commenter says, “She went in feeling like a queen and came out fighting for her financial life over a steak. One bite tasted like beef, the next tasted like regret. 😹🥩.” Another commenter chimed in, “This is traumatizing, I know cause it’s happened to me, Now that you’ve reminded me, I’m crying 😭.”
For some reason, the steak unveil resulted in a debate where some viewers even advised the nurse to pursue legal action, likely because of the serving size or the price, “Aw hell nah sue 🤨🤨🤨,” rants a commenter. Sierra insists, however, “whyyy it was soo gooddd,” though she’ll probably check the menu first next time.
