I’m very familiar with the phrase ‘F** around and find out’; if you aren’t, you must lead a very easy life. It basically means that if you really want to find out something, then you better be ready to take on the consequences. One video posted to Reddit depicts a person hand-feeding an aggressive bear only to discover that maybe they weren’t prepared to face the aftermath of their actions.
The video depicts a brown bear approaching several vehicles. A man in the background, wearing protective gear, appears ready to tranquilize it, insinuating that the animal is probably dangerous. However, for some reason, the people inside the car closest to the bear decide that’s the best time to feed the animal a snack. So, with a phone in one hand and what looks to be a french fry in the other, she sticks her hand out towards the wild bear.
Not shocking, the bear lunges towards the person’s hand and reaches out to grip it. Fortunately, the person is able to bring their arm back into the car before any real damage could happen. However, it was still an incredibly dumb move, and you can see that everyone else in the video thought the same thing.
Commenters rushed to the replies to either give their opinion on the situation or ridicule the people in the car for their actions.
“It’s just natural selection at this point”
I’m not sure what the person expected when it came to hand-feeding an aggressive bear, especially seeing someone with a literal weapon pointed at the bear. At no point would I think that means it’s safe to stick my literal hand in its face. Other replies share my grief, saying,
“I really find it infuriating when people act like disney princesses with wild animals.”
In all seriousness, I hope that the person in the vehicle is alright and never tries something like that again. Who knows if they’ll be able to keep all their fingers next time?
