April is set to be a massive month for Atlus and Persona 5. After teasing Persona 5: The Royal back in early March with a short teaser and promising more information on April 25, a whole other title is set to get more information as well. Entitled Persona 5 S, the mysterious entry was first found via an Atlus registered website. Digging into the source code, fans were able to find a calling card promising more information on April 25th as well.

This led to a lot of speculation on what the new title could be. The Persona series has been known to do many iterations of their numbered games including fighting games, dancing games and full on updated definitive versions. The main bit of information may have been harping on is the letter “S” that indicates that it may be a Nintendo Switch port that many have been pining for. This move would make sense as the Persona 5 protagonist, Joker is set to launch as a playable character in April in Nintendo’s smash hit fighting franchise, Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

Persona 5

The hope of a Switch port was quickly backed up by a new listing in the Best Buy employee system for Persona 5 Switch. This listing was quickly leaked to the public and later backed up by reputable leaker Wario 64 that it was in fact in the store’s system. Now, this doesn’t confirm anything as it may just be a mistake or placeholder, but that hasn’t stopped fans from getting excited.

With a Switch version and what is likely the updated definitive version in Persona 5: The Royal right around the corner, it’s a great time to be a Persona fan. For now, we will have to wait until April 25, 2019, to get more information!

Are you excited for Persona 5: The Royal? Do you believe that Persona 5 S is, in fact, a Nintendo Switch port? Leave a comment below and tell us what you think!
