After the impressive success of the recent Persona 3 Reload, it seems Atlus is hard at work on two more remakes for fans of the series. According to a leak from a reliable insider, Persona 2 and Persona 4 are getting remakes sometime in the future.
Even before the critical and commercial acclaim of Persona 3 Reload, fans of the series have been begging for remakes of the earlier games in the franchise. The most demanded remake has to be Persona 4, followed by Persona 2, so Atlus is on the right track here.
The insider that confirmed the remakes, Midori, took to X (formerly Twitter) and confirmed that Persona 2 and Persona 4 remakes were already being worked on. The leaker didn’t provide any further details of what fans can expect from the series going forward. Persona 2 had multiple versions, the original one in 1999, Innocent Sin, and Eternal Punishment. Which one of the three is getting a remake is unknown at this point.
Persona 2 & Persona 4 Remake Leak Details
The leaker has revealed multiple Atlus projects in the past as well, so although not confirmed, there is some legitimacy behind these claims. But until there is an official confirmation, it is recommended you take these leaks with a healthy helping of salt.
As for when these remakes will see the light of day, not anytime soon. Currently, Persona 6 is under development and a remake will only materialize well after the latest entry. According to the insider, Persona 6 is aiming for a 2025 launch, but the release date hasn’t been decided yet internally.
Although Persona 4 has never received the P3 Reload treatment, the second game in the series did get a remake in 2011. But like Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes, it was far ahead of its time, back when remakes didn’t get the love and appreciation they do today.
