Phantasy Star Online 2 will soon begin its closed beta in early February. Those that participate in the closed beta will retain their progress for the full release and earn special rewards.
Phantasy Star Online 2 is a free-to-play action RPG developed by Sega. It first released in Japan for the PC in 2012, and up until now has only been available to play in Asia.
That changed at E3 2019, where it was announced that Phantasy Star Online 2 would release worldwide exclusively on Xbox One and PC. Up until now, there has not been much new, but the news of the closed beta hopefully means the full release is coming soon.
Phantasy Star Online 2 Closed Beta Begins February 7
The closed beta will begin on Friday, February 7 at 5 P.M. PST, and end the next day at 11:59 P.M. PST. There will be several different quests to take on during the closed beta, as well as a special live music performance in the game.
While the full game is available on Xbox One and Windows, the closed beta is only available to Xbox One players in the United States and Canada. There is an early sign-up available, and a pre-load of the closed beta means you can get right in on the action as soon as the closed beta starts.
Anyone that accesses the closed beta can earn special rewards for the full game. Anyone that logs in can earn the Photon Halo B and Beauty Salon Free Pass for the closed beta, and completing the urgent quests can unlock more rewards for the full game.
To sign up for the closed beta, you must have installed the Xbox Insider Hub on your PC or Xbox One. You can then go to the Games tab and sign-up early for the closed beta.
