Hotfix update 0.9.0.5 has arrived for Phasmophobia, and here are the bug fixes and changes that arrived with this patch. This was pretty quick because the previous update, 0.9.0.4, was also released today. It seems like the developers wanted to deliver a few more important changes. It’s noted that the players should avoid forcing quitting of their games before installing this update, or they could cause data loss. That’s probably the biggest reason why the team released a hotfix immediately. Here are the patch notes for Phasmophobia hotfix update 0.9.0.5.
Phasmophobia Hotfix 0.9.0.5 Update Patch Notes Including Small Fixes
Changed
- Added a fake bounced light effect to Flashlight T1/2 light cookies, to help with motion sickness when using high FOV and navigating in the dark
- Improved main menu load times
- Reduced memory footprint in some maps
- Increased the knock over chance for tripods
Fixes
- Crucifix T2/3’s burn and interaction photos will now work consistently
- Toggling a light on and off in a room will now update reflections correctly
- Forcing the game to close without clicking the quit button should no longer revert you to an old save
As you see above, small tweaks could be important for the background. It doesn’t seem like your game experience will be affected, but at least we’re glad that the hotfix is correcting a problem causing save loss. Downloading two updates in a day sounds a bit trying, but there must be better game stability in the background. The game is still in an early-access status, so it would be best to get used to it. Double updates in a day, annoying problems, and optimization issues are inevitable in early-access games.
Phasmophobia is available on PC, Xbox Series, and PlayStation.
