One would think the holidays are times full of joy, cute things, and warm feelings. Yet, that’s not always true on the gaming side of things because even some of the scariest games out there are going for a spooky twist on Christmas. One clear example is Phasmophobia, which is bringing its Winter’s Jest event once more. This year, all Ghost Hunters will have to band together to complete community challenges and, in doing so, unlock exclusive rewards. And to give the ghost-hunting game that Christmas feeling, many maps will also receive a holiday makeover, which is fitting for this jolly yet spooky time.
Winter’s Jest Event Guide
First of all, the Winter’s Jest event in Phasmophobia goes live on December 16 and runs until January 6. The start and end times are the same: 12 PM GMT. As we said above, this year will be all about tackling community challenges, most of which involve collecting Krampus’ jack-in-the-box items across several maps.
To make the event more interesting and a bit unpredictable for Ghost Hunters, Winter’s Jest in Phasmophobia will have a map rotation during the event, and these are the ones included in the said rotation:
- 10 Ridgeview Court
- 6 Tanglewood Drive
- 13 Willow Street
- 42 Edgefield Road
- Camp Woodwind
- Bleasdale Farmhouse
- Grafton Farmhouse
- Maple Lodge Campsite
- Point Hope
- Nells Diner
You’ll find most of these maps decorated to enhance that holiday vibe or to scare you more, depending on how you feel about hunting ghosts during Christmas. Also, to accrue points for the community goals, you’ll find Krampus’ bag of gifts, and a list of people asking for specific items. If you collect them, you’ll obtain your points to unlock rewards.
In terms of rewards, Kinetic Games has already revealed a couple of community and personal ones, which include the following:
- Community Goal 1 – Toy Soldier ID Card & Badge set
- Community Goal 2 – Winter’s Jest trophy unlock.
- Note: If you unlocked the trophy last year, a new trophy will not be added to your cabinet. You’ll immediately start working towards its upgrades.
- Personal Goal 1 – Animated Toy Soldier ID Card
- Personal Goal 2 – Upgrade to the Winter’s Jest trophy. Can be repeated 3 times.
Those who participated in last year’s Winter’s Jest will get to upgrade their trophy by completing some of the tasks. If not, there are still a few new items and cosmetics to get, such as the ID Card & Badge set. On top of that, there will be a Double XP week, running from December 16 to December 23, which is the first week of the event.
So, remember to mark your calendars and get your ghost-hunting crew ready because this jolly season just got spookier.
