Sure, food pickup and delivery companies charge an arm and a leg, especially when factoring in tips, distance, and application fees. However, that doesn’t mean that you don’t know what the final price is when you go to check out. Well, for one Illinois mother, she had to find out the hard way just how much her autistic son spent on pizza.

Fortunately for her, Pizza Hat, the company that the food was ordered from, was incredibly responsive and even reached out to make the situation better. Now, not only does the boy and his family have a ton of pizza, but they’re likely going to be frequenting the restaurant more in the near future.

I do not have the @DoorDash app on any of his devices. He was able to go to Google pull up the DoorDash website. Search our town, @Pizza Hut , made a cart and somehow log into my account because I wasn’t logged in!! I cannot make this up #autism #pizza #fyp #meme #pizzahut

The above video was posted to the TikTok account @creoleladi_, which is run by a mother and entrepreneur named Dominique who typically posts about her daily life. This video isn’t too different from the norm, but it is a little bit more serious. The video focuses on Dominique’s son Jakey, who has autism.

He can be seen crying as his mother reprimands him for using the DoorDash app to purchase and have delivered $160 worth of Pizza Hut food. In the caption, Dominque explains that she isn’t sure how this could have happened in the first place because the application has been removed from all his devices. However, that didn’t stop Jakey from heading to Google and using the browser version of the app.

Jakey was then able to log into his mother’s account, which held her payment information and made the order. However, because of the fact that the money had been spent and the food delivered, Dominique decided that nothing could be done and kept the food. Fortunately, Pizza Hut jumped into the comments and helped fix the situation.

It’s clear that Jakey was empathetic about the situation, despite not really understanding what he had done. However, as his mother, Dominique definitely needed to make sure he at least understood that what he did was wrong, especially since he hadn’t asked for permission.

The comment Pizza Hut left on the video simply said, “Jakey is so real for this 🫣 Send us a DM, we might have something fun for you!” In an update video, Dominique posted exactly what the surprise was: “Hey there! We loved the TikTok of Jakey ordering Pizza Hut – he’s so real for that 😎 We’ve got something exciting for you! We’d love to treat you and hook you up with free pizza for the year and pay you back for the order. Below are two $350 gift cards so you can enjoy plenty of pizza (and more) on us. 🍕“

Commenters were enthusiastic that the video was able to reach as far as it did. Some people even noted that he ordered a lot of pizza, so maybe his thought process involved his family. One person even said,“At least he ordered enough for everybody and more.” Hopefully, Dominique will never have to go through this situation again, and Jakey can look back at this situation fondly.
