PlayStation Plus Essential Games For April 2024 Revealed

It’s a lot better when it’s free.

Sony has officially revealed the free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers for April 2024, and it’s another strong month for fans of first-person games and side-scrollers. The lineup will be available to download from Tuesday, April 2 to Monday, May 6, 2024. The free games can be accessed by anyone who is subscribed to PlayStation Plus Essentials, or a higher tier.

Like before, all of the games coming to PlayStation Plus are playable on PS5. But some games will not be playable on PS4. The only disappointment for April 2024 is that there are only three games instead of four like last month. You can see the list of games coming to the PlayStation Plus Essential tier in April 2024 below.

Immortals Of Aveum

The headliner for April, Immortals Of Aveum was one of EA’s biggest releases of 2023, but it fell well short of expectations due to its $70 price tag and relatively uninspired appearance. Although visually speaking, Immortals Of Aveum looks pretty well, it wasn’t unique enough to merit its full price. Developed by Ascendant Studios, the game is a “magic shooter” that puts you in the shoes of Jak, an elite battlemage who has to, you guessed it, save the world.

Minecraft Legends

Based on Minecraft, Minecraft Legends is a real-time action-strategy game developed by Mojang Studios that came out in early 2023. The game was not only ported to PlayStation consoles but to the Nintendo Switch as well. Although one of the weaker games on the list, it could be a good time for anyone who is a fan of the genre of Minecraft itself.

Skul: The Hero Slayer

For fans of pixel art or side scrollers, Skul: The Hero Slayer is an action-platformer with roguelike elements thrown in for good measure. The game is developed by SouthPAW Games and came out in 2021. If you’re a fan of the genre, you won’t want to miss this one. It has been a fan favorite since its release and still has a sizable following to this day.

Overwatch 2 Mega Bundle

Other than games, there are some extra goodies too. Overwatch 2 players who are subscribed to PlayStation Plus will get access to the Mega Bundle which includes the following items:

  • Beekeeper Sigma Legendary Skin
  • Art Deco Symmetra Legendary Skin
  • Runner Sojourn Epic Skin
  • Punker Queen Junker Queen Epic Skin
  • Construction Ramattra Epic Skin
  • Matsuri Kiriko Epic Skin
  • Cassia Lifeweaver Epic Skin
  • Amethyst Illari Epic Skin
  • Rugby Mauga Epic Skin
  • 5x Battle Pass Tier Skips

Remember, that this also means that this is the last opportunity to claim the free games for PS Plus subscribers for last month. March 2024’s games included EA Sports F1 23, Sifu, Hello Neighbor 2, and Destiny 2: Witch Queen, all of which can be claimed until Monday, April 1.
