It’s the end of July and a new month of free games with PlayStation Plus has been announced. After July’s fantastic lineup of Detroit: Become Human Digital Deluxe Editionย and Horizon Chase Turbo, we’ve had plenty to play with, but it seems this month could bring some more action-packed fun. The PlayStation Plus free games for August are Sniper Elite 4 and WipEout Omega Collection. It seems that Sony is continuing the promise of better free games with Plus.

PlayStation Plus Free Games for August 2019

WipEout Omega Collection

Not just a singular game, but a collection of two and its DLCs, WipEout Omega Collection combines WipEout 2048, WipEout HD, and the HD Fury expansion into the ultimate Wipeout experience. It seems PlayStation is using collections and deluxe editions of games to broaden the deal that you get by subscribing to there pricy, $50 PlayStation Plus package. But so far it seems to be worth it. WipEout is a racing franchise with a twist. Its anti-gravity, futuristic theme places it outside the usual crowd. And alongside it, the colorful setting of its 26 race tracks makes it a blast to play. Its dozens of unlockable ships can be taken online, racing eight players on extremely fast circuits. But if you’d prefer, you can play it single-player or with friends on your couch.

That’s quite a lot to get your teeth into in a singular month. You can even play it fully immersed in PSVR. And of course, it doesn’t stop there.

Sniper Elite 4

The second free game of the month for PlayStation Plus is Sniper Elite 4. The fourth, and latest, in the series of sniper games, where you aim for various Axis body parts. The aim, like the others of the franchise, is to slip behind enemy lines and take out high priority targets. But this time to drive out the Axis forces from the Italian Peninsula. You can even use a mixture of traps, explosives or the occasional melee takedown depending on the environment. But most importantly, you can do it with a friend. With another sniper rifle on your side, you can take out the enemy cooperatively. You can even enjoy special co-operative missions with two to four players. Let’s not forget the intense competitive multiplayer modes for up to 12 players either.

WipEout Omega Collection and Sniper Elite 4 will, of course, be available on the first Tuesday of the month. Unfortunately, this year lands on the later 6th of August.

But before then, make sure to try out one of the 2017s biggest AAA titles, Detroit Become Human Deluxe Edition and the retro-themed Horizon Chase Turbo, available until the 5th of August.
