For you PlayStation Plus subscribers, here are all the free games coming to the PlayStation store for the month of January 2019.
For the PlayStation 4, you can get Ubisoft’s 2016 extreme sports game Steep. Steep takes place in Ubisoft’s version of the Alps where you can ski, snowboard, and jump off long distances using a wingsuit. Also on PlayStation 4 is the co-op RPG game Portal Knights. This game takes inspiration from the Minecraft building mechanics.
On the PlayStation 3 is the mech combat title Zone Of The Ender HD Collection (which has both Zone Of The Ender games) and the rhythm game, Amplitude. Amplitude is also playable on the PS4.
For Vita players, the hand-drawn action RPG game Fallen Legion: Flames of the Rebellion will be available this month. Also on the Vita is the action-platformer Super Mutant Alien Assault.
It should be noted that PS Vita and PS3 games will not be apart of the PS Plus subscription much longer. A couple of months ago, Sony said that they will be ending the subscription service on those two consoles after February 2019. It has not been said yet what will be replacing these missing slots. It’s possible we could be seeing more games from the PS4 becoming free games each month.
It’s sad to see the free selection for the PS3 and Vita games going away after all of this time but hopefully, this will strengthen the PS Plus catalog in the future. In the meantime, at least we can play games like Steep, Portal Knights, and Fallen Legion: Flames of the Rebellion.
What are your thoughts on this month’s PlayStation Plus games? Do you plan on picking up Portal Knights or Steep? What do you think about Sony abandoning the Vita and PS3 games for the service? Let us know in the comments below!
