Wolverine just can’t lie down and die– even in pop culture, and now Sony might have something that will revitalize your excitement for their upcoming Wolverine game. With Insomniac as the developer, Marvel’s Wolverine has been one of the long-awaited and in-development games right now. A recent insider report has revealed that there has been substantial progress for Marvel’s Wolverine.

The information came from Kurakasis. He’s one of the most well-known and reliable leakers in the games industry. Here’s his tweet:

From my little digging, it looks like Sony is gearing up to show off some new stuff from Marvel's Wolverine. It's hard for me to determine when it'll happen, but I'm guessing it'll be this year—either at TGA or at some unannounced, super-secret event.

It could be anything from a new trailer to an actual gameplay demo or even anything as small as another teaser. However, the year is coming to an end soon, so all eyes point to The Game Awards (TGA) which will take place in December 2024.

The last time Insomniac officially revealed anything about Marvel’s Wolverine was around three years ago and it was still in early development back then for the PS5. Three years is a substantial amount of time for development, meaning Kurakasis’ leak is plausible.

Marvel’s Wolverine is in Good Hands, Regardless

The upcoming game is being helmed by Brian Horton and Cameron Christian, both of whom worked on Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales spinoff. Marvel’s Wolverine also has plenty of other talent from Insomniac’s successful Marvel’s Spider-Man games, pointing to a rather strong promise for the upcoming X-Man game.

Insomniac has been quiet about the game apart from the December 2023 leak due to hackers and it’s not clear whether that might have delayed announcements or reveals. In any case, this will likely prove to be a strong showing for Sony, especially after it left some fans wanting more back in the 2024 Summer Games Fest.

Now, while Kurakasis has proven themselves right multiple times in the past, you might still want to take this insider report with a grain of salt. We’ll need to wait for official announcements and teasers from PlayStation, Sony, or Insomniac.
