After quite a loud and memorable debut in Euphoria, Sydney Sweeney has been steadily gaining a reputation in Hollywood. She even made a guest appearance on Saturday Night Live several months ago. Apparently, there’s more to that SNL appearance. Sydney’s co-star, Bowen Yang has revealed some juicy details about his time with the Euphoria actress, even claiming that Sydney Sweeney was begging SNL to make fun of her boobs.
Bowen Yang has spent a good chunk of his time and career in SNL (over five seasons). The comedian also recently joined David Spade’s Fly on the Wall podcast and spilled some behind-the-scenes beans about his time in SNL, particularly about Sydney Sweeney.
“She came in and was like, ‘Please, everyone, make jokes about my boobs.’ She was practically begging everybody.” Says Bowen Yang.
This pertained to their Hooters skit on SNL back in March 2024. Bowen Yang then went on to praise Sydney Sweeney as an actress who was in on the joke and someone who knew her strengths all too well. To Bowen, Sydney was “an example of a host who came in and understood how she was being consumed and perceived already.”
Granted, the SNL cast was gentle and respectful with Sydney Sweeney. Bowen even asked her in advance if she was comfortable with the Hooters sketch. If you can recall, Bowen and Sydney had to make out for that skit. Sydney was quick to dismiss Bowen’s hesitation, saying “Bowen, I’m on Euphoria. You’re living every gay man’s dream by ‘having sex’ with me.”
It’s worth noting that Bowen Yang is a gay actor and comedian. He did have to channel his heterosexual side for the Hooters skit with Sydney Sweeney and her boobs joke. That didn’t stop him from recommending “hooking up” with Sydney Sweeney.
