First brought in with Generation IV, Budew is an adorable Baby Pokémon. In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, Budew evolves into Roselia depending on its friendship stat. So, if you want to start their evolution line, you need to buckle down on your bond with them.

Evolve Budew in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl

Budew, the Grass/Poison-type Pokémon, will evolve if it has a High Friendship stat. However, that isn’t the only thing to focus on. With that high stat, you also must level Budew up during the day. If those two things are true, you will soon have yourself a Roselia. The type doesn’t change, so you will still have a Grass/Poison Pokémon.

Raising Budew Friendship in Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl

The good thing about friendship is that it naturally goes up whenever you battle with or travel with a Pokémon. You can keep Budew out of the Poké Ball more often to help. If you want to speed some things up, you can always have Budew hold a Soothe Bell. When held, this item will help Pokémon gain double the amount of happiness.

This way, you will evolve Budew in Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl in little time.

How to Locate Budew

Budew can be encountered in the wild and the Grand Underground in several places. If you can, take a Luxury Ball with you. This will help raise Budew’s friendship stat.

In the wild, you can encounter Budew in the following areas:

  • Eterna Forest (uncommon morning/day | rare night)
  • Within Great Marsh Area 1 (rare morning/day | none at night)
  • Great Marsh Area 2 (rare morning/day | none at night)
  • Somewhere in Great Marsh Area 3 (rare morning/day | none at night)
  • Great Marsh Area 4 (rare morning/day | none at night)
  • In the Great Marsh Area 5 (rare morning/day | none at night)
  • Great Marsh Area 6 (rare morning/day | none at night)
  • Route 204 North (uncommon morning/day |rare night)
  • On Route 204 South (uncommon morning/day | rare night)
  • Route 212 North (common)

In the Grand Underground, encounters happen in the following locations:

  • Grassland Cave
  • Riverbank Cave
  • Spacious Cave
  • Still-Water Cavern
  • Sunlit Cavern

To evolve Budew in Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, get a high friendship stat and level them up during the day. They will evolve immediately from there. You can always check their friendship level with the Friendship Checker app on Poketch.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl is available on Nintendo Switch.
