With dozens of Pokémon at your disposal to catch, one of the biggest factors trainers must focus on is evolving. Some companions remain the same like Pachirisu. In the case of Skorupi, you can evolve it into Drapion in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl. It just takes some leveling up to accomplish.

How to Evolve Skorupi in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl

If you want to evolve Skorupi in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, then you need to keep it around throughout your journey. Skorupi has to reach Level 40 to trigger an evolution into Drapion. No trading, special items, or evolution stones are needed here. Instead, you want to fight in every wild encounter. Skipping battles means you skip EXP, and since Skorupi needs such a high level to evolve, you need all the points you can get.

If you’ve already defeated the Elite Four and the Champion, then you can always go back for a rematch. Their Pokémon are stronger now, and you will get far more EXP battling them than with wild encounters.

Does this all seem too slow to you? Then don’t forget the Lucky Egg. When your Pokémon holds the Lucky Egg, the EXP they receive increases. It’s a good way to level up quickly. Just remember that when you evolve Skorupi, its type will change. Instead of it being a Poison/Bug-type Pokémon, it will evolve into a Poison/Dark-type Pokémon.

How to Locate Skorupi

Can’t evolve Skorupi in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl if you don’t have one yet. You can encounter it in seven areas:

  • Big Bluff Cavern
  • Bogsunk Cavern
  • Rocky Cave
  • Sandsear Cave
  • Swampy Cave
  • Typhlo Cavern
  • Volcanic Cave

Besides in the Grand Underground, you can find Skorupi in the Great Marsh as a Daily Pokémon. Just go to Pastoria City and once in the Great Marsh lobby, go to the second floor. Peek through the binoculars to see what Pokémon are available for the day. If you don’t see Skorupi, simply check back another day.

When you want to evolve Skorupi in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, just work on raising its level. It may need quite a high level, Level 40 in fact, but it’s certainly doable. If you follow some of our tips, you’ll evolve Skorupi into Drapion in no time.
