Out of the abilities that can be acquired in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Fly is arguably one of the most useful ones. The Hidden Move allows you to travel to any locations across the Sinnoh region that you have already visited, cutting down on backtracking and open-world traversal. It is also a Hidden Move that is missable, leading to many players going through the game without this great quality of life upgrade. Luckily, this guide can provide a simple explanation of where to find Fly.  This guide will show you how to get Fly in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

How to Get Fly in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

To get Fly in both Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you first need to head to Veilstone City. Make your way to the Veilstone City Gym Leader, Maylene, and defeat her for the gym’s badge. Once that is done, make your way north of the city’s Pokémon Center and towards the Team Galactic Warehouse. If you have gotten the badge, you should find Dawn in front of a pair of Team Galactic Grunts. You will team up to take them on in a Doubles Battle. Once the Grunts are defeated, you will be able to enter the warehouse where you will find Fly.

Once you enter the warehouse, you don’t need to go far to find Fly as you will notice a Pokéball sitting on the ground next to a box directly to the right of the entrance. Walk up to the Pokéball and pick it up, doing so will unlock the Fly Hidden Move. While the ability can’t be used in caves or indoors, you don’t need to use a Flying type to use the ability, so don’t feel the need to take up space in your party just so you can fast travel.
